Esteemed Marine Business Builds New Facility

Maverick Boat Group (MBG) is based out of Fort Pierce, Florida on the Atlantic Coast. They own 4 highly-respected boat lines including, Cobia, Hewes, Maverick and Pathfinder. The company celebrates the opening of their new 106,000 square foot facility and production is already in motion. This investment in St. Lucie County totals over $6.7 million and adds over 100 jobs to the area initially.

MBG currently operates out of a 66,000 square foot facility just a half mile away and plans to keep this plant in operation. With a goal to produce 15 boats per week at full capacity, more hiring will occur in the first year. MBG aims to have 250 skilled craftsmen at the new facility in addition to their current workforce of over 280 team members.

This new facility and the excitement that surrounds it is evidence of continued strengthening in the marine industry, both in Florida and the US.

First to Float

Soon after opening, the first boats are already rolling out of the building. A Pathfinder 2600 TRS is the first boat to be completed. This facility has molds for both Pathfinder and Cobia boats and production for more models is beginning to ramp up.
